Hip scoring should be considered along with other criteria as part of a responsible breeding programme, and, ideally, breeders should choose breeding stock with hip scores below the breed median score. The median score is calculated from all the scores recorded for that breed over the previous five years and is the middle score of the population, i.e. 50% of dogs have a lower score and 50% have a higher score. It therefore represents the hip score of the ‘average dog’ in that breed and dogs with scores which are lower than the median have better than average hips for that breed. It is strongly recommended that hip scores of parents, grandparents, siblings and any previous progeny are considered as this gives the most accurate assessment of an individual dog’s hip status.....
Please note that ALL our dogs have been hip and elbow scored for several generations now

Picture here shows Tyrodal Man on a Mission being placed ready to be exrayed. He had both his hips and elbows done at the same time... Its all done in less than 30 minuets under mild sedation... He walked out of Hampton Veterinary Centre (specialists in hip and elbow scoring) not aware that anything had been done.
He had excellent results... Elbows 0. Hips 3/7 = 10
ALL our dogs have this procedure to make sure of the very best of healthy genetics is passed on to our puppies.
It should be pointed out here that its imperative that BOTH parents are scored otherwise its pointless. Genetics good or bad come from BOTH parents!
